We were looking to replace our old 13″ TV. We checked various options, like the 15DLv77, but did not like the 4:3 aspect radio. The Westinghouse 15.6″ had very bad sound reviews, so no, the Viewsonic 15″ had limited viewing angles. The toshiba 15lv505 has 170 deg viewing angle (real) . Colors are true even at an extreme angle and this is very important if you are moving around your kitchen. The sound is very good for a normal sized kitchen.

En la primera fase del Sistema de Transporte Público Individual ECOBICI que puso en marcha el Gobierno del Distrito Federal el 16 de febrero del año en curso, se reportan más de tres mil personas inscritas hasta el último corte.

“Ha logrado demostrar ser un medio de transporte confiable, a diferencia de países como Barcelona o Madrid, donde a poco tiempo de haber puesto en marcha este mismo sistema, tuvieron reportes de robo de bicicletas. En la ciudad de México no tenemos reporte de una caso similar”, expresó en entrevista para El Universal, la Secretaría del Medio Ambiente del Distrito Federal, Martha Delgado Peralta.

Se han realizado más de 35 mil viajes en los vehículos del servicio ECOBICI el cual cuenta con mil 114 bicicletas y 85 cicloestaciones automatizadas.

A diario varía el número de trayectos realizados pero en promedio se estima son mil 600. El día que más se utilizan los vehículos de ECOBICI es el viernes donde se hacen hasta dos mil recorridos.

“Curiosamente el día que menos se utiliza es el lunes y podríamos pensar que el domingo es el día fuerte por las actividades en Reforma, pero no, recordemos que la finalidad de este sistema no es recreativo sino para resolver trayectos en días donde el transito es pesado”, puntualizó, Martha Delgado.

Los usuarios

En lo que va del mes de abril, a diario el portal de ECOBICI recibió alrededor de 500 mil 300 visitas de interesados en adquirir y conocer sobre este medio de transporte.

Los inscritos al Sistema de Transporte Público Individual ECOBICI variaron por día, no obstante, el 3 de abril es una de las fechas con mayor afluencia pues adquirieron su tarjeta 89 personas.

“Las personas que utilizan ECOBICI son aquellas que tienen una estación cerca de su trabajo por lo regular, sin embargo, tenemos casos registrados del pago con tarjeta de crédito del servicio para más de una persona, como es que el padre de familia inscribió también a todos los miembros de su familia”, explicó Martha Delgado.
Las estaciones más utilizadas

En su primera fase de ECOBICI existen estaciones en las colonias Hipódromo, Hipódromo-Condesa, Condesa, Roma Norte, Juárez y Cuauhtémoc.

Donde hay mayor uso del sistema de transporte en bicicleta es la Condesa respectivamente en la estación ubicada en la calle Alfonso Reyes  esquina con Nuevo León y la calle de Durango esquina con Sonora.

La segunda zona donde existe mayor demanda de las bicicletas es en Reforma en las estaciones ubicadas alrededor de la Glorieta del Ángel de la Independencia y frente a la plaza 222 sobre Reforma.

En cuestión de accidentes la titular de medio ambiente explico que “hasta el momento no tenemos ningún reporte todo ha caminado bien en un ambiente de respeto no sólo a las bicicletas sino también a los usuarios”, Finalizó.

WaterSmart WaterSmart, a company in Austin, Tex., markets coconut-based soap for washing cars.

As large parts of the American West continue to experience drought, waterless car washes have been catching on. A new company in Austin, Tex., called WaterSmart, for example, washes cars with a coconut-based soap, according to an article in The Austin American Statesman.

The soap, made in various formulas under a brand called Freedom, for which WaterSmart is the local distributor, is biodegradable, the proprietors say.

“The biggest thing we’re up against is the human brain, which says, ‘That doesn’t make sense,’” said Sarah Morgan, who runs WaterSmart along with her husband, according to the newspaper.

Another waterless car wash — a mobile one called EcoSmart Waterless Auto Care — began operations in the Austin area this year. It brings its services to customers, in office complexes, retail centers and parking garages.

Carwash.com also reports that there have been a “plethora of waterless car-wash and wax products to hit shelves in recent months.”
